Hera

2006, ceramics
18"h x 14"w x 5"d
| In Greek mythology, Hera was Zeus' jealous wife. A powerful
woman, she channeled her energies in ways that were ultimately
damaging to herself. In this torso, the centres of the flowers are
carpet tacks, piercing through the clay to the inside. Hera's choker
necklace (detachable, wearable) is created from a blackened raku
'flower' made with silver, turquoise and glass beads. |
