Medea

Beautiful Medea felt 'used' by her husband Jason who eventually left her for a younger woman. The text on this torso, taken from my book, Light Among the Shadows (they told me/ I was beautiful/ and that it was/ enough/ for me/ I believed them/ until/ my beauty/ faded/and I could see/ for myself/ that it was not/ enough), is branded into the clay with a ransom type font. Medea's necklace will combine freshwater pearls and smoked raku beads to underscore the relationship between beauty and imperfection.
